Rolfe's leadlighting journey began with a traineeship with Tasmanian Stained Glass in Evandale, Tasmania in 1982, designing and making all kinds of windows from domestic work to churches, repairs and restorations. In 1988 he started Studio Stained Glass in Launceston, continuing until 2019 apart from a break to study architecture and 2 years working with Tradition Stained Glass in Perth W.A.

Both pencil portrait drawing and wilderness landscape photography have been threaded through this time, and it now seems the time is ripe to bring these loves to the fore along with stained glass work.
